Blur created by people walking past at the Zocala
"Oaxaca Speed Walkers". Another intentional blur by Al, this image was created when two women walked rapidly past the park bench he was using to set up this type of shot at the Zócala. Panning the camera angle with the subjects caused the Poinsettias and other objects behind the women to be rendered as streaks.

It is offered as a custom 12x17 inch Giclée print in a black 16x20 shadowbox, priced at $200 including shipping. Email us at Allindaphoto@Comcast.net if other sizes or configurations are desired.
"Intimate Encounter". An intentional blur of two women during an intimate encounter on a park bench at the Zócala in Oaxaca, Mexico. Taken by Al during our December trip in 2009. See the blogs on this site for much more information on the techniques used. The image simply leaps out of the shadowbox as if you were wearing 3D glasses!

This very serious-looking elderly woman was carrying a basket at the Zócala, possibly to sell her items there.
At the Zócala, in order to capture images of interesting people we set up at places where the light would be behind us, but the background would be interesting but not too light to avoid distractions. Here, the background is a fountain, and the young girl was walking past, eyeing the photographer with a suspicious look. Fortunately the shutter was released just before the shadow of a pole obscured her face, adding a little more interest to the image. We found that children in Oaxaca made excellent subjects.
This is an image made from a park bench at the Zócala, in front of a fountain spouting water. The late afternoon light did its magic here. The gentleman looks very intent on where he was going, and is also very distinguished, helped by the wide-brimmed hat.
This family was walking by while I was set up on a park bench at the Zócala. The late day sun was in their faces, but they seemed to enjoy it anyway.
