We offer beautiful Fine Art photographic images, both at our
Fine Art Store, and the
Bay Photo Store.
We also are available for special photographic sessions where we take
Portraits as well as less formal photos of families, couples, individuals, groups, pets or horses, and other domestic animals. Our specialty is the use of natural locations and backgrounds, and available light.
Our sessions also extend to the capture of images at
Events such as meetings, receptions, parties, sports such as football, baseball, swim meets, etc.
Services we offer include
custom matting, copying and printing of watercolor or other paintings for which you own the copyright, and
digital slide show presentations to various groups and organizations, based mostly on trips we have taken to locations in the US and abroad.

My photographic experience began with a Konica camera when our children were small, in Maryland and North Carolina. About the time the kids were starting to grow up I got more interested in photography and built my own darkroom. I took mostly black and white images then, and entered some photo contests, with considerable success. During this period I also worked as a wedding photographer, did bridal portraits, and was President of a photography club. Later, in the Richmond, VA area, I began recording trips with slides, and using color negatives for family photographs. In the meantime, both Linda and I developed an interest in birds, which grew as we developed our interest in photography. When I retired from my day job in 2000 I got more serious about photography again, just in time for the rise of digital cameras. In addition to other subjects, I began to combine my interest in birds and my photographic interest, giving rise to the Birds gallery. My darkroom experience came in handy when I began printing my digital photographs on an Epson inkjet (Giclée) printer. I have had several very successful exhibits, some as part of photo club group exhibits, and some as solo exhibits. After several years, during which my expertise in digital photography, Photoshop, printing, matting and framing increased in quantum leaps with each workshop attended, I obtained a professional Epson printer, and can now make prints up to 17 inches wide. Photography is my main focus. I hope you will want to take advantage of that dedication and experience, and use our services to satisfy your photographic or artistic desires.

I became a photographer at age 12 when I got a Kodak Brownie camera for Christmas. It was a thrill to capture images on film! I even "invented" the panoramic by taking consecutive shots across a scene. By the time the camera broke, adolescence, college, career, marriage, and children diverted my photographic interests. In 2000 I acquired a Canon Rebel and resumed building my photographic skills. In 2002 I got my first digital camera, a Canon Powershot model, which had the capability of photographing in the raw format. It took great photos, many of which we converted to 16x20 prints. Mostly I loved being able to change the ISO setting, but all the advantages of shooting digitally appealed to me. I now use two digital cameras: a Canon 40D and a Canon S3 IS because it has a fantastic 12x optical zoom.
Comments from viewers and colleagues at my many exhibits and solo shows say that I have a great eye for composition and artistic creation. I enjoy shooting with other photographers at sites I would not have chosen. It keeps me trying new things so I don't get into a rut. Also, Al and I travel extensively, and going to new places opens up many fresh opportunities.
