"Purple Martin Artistry". Al captured this image of Purple Martins returning to their roost on 17th Street in Richmond Virginia in late June, 2009. At that time of year, starting at 8 PM the birds circle in the air until after 8:30, when they suddenly descend all at once to the roost in a group of Bradford Pear trees. In this image they were rendered as a ghostly blur against the blue sky, with some almost sharp images superimposed. The image is offered as a custom 12 x 18 inch Giclée print in a 18x24 inch white mat with a 3/4" Raven Black inner mat. This piece is priced at $120 including shipping.
